A friend from abroad is playing the self-reported experience of Super Mario.
When you use Mario, skip Goombas, walk along the pipe, and get bigger and bigger after eating mushrooms. This is Super Mario. I just played 3DNes with my HTC Vive.
You may have heard of 3DNes before. Before it was released a year ago, it turned many classic 2D games into 3D games. Created by Vietnamese independent developer Tran Vu Truc, the simulator detects 2D images in NES games and converts them into 3D objects. For example, Mario's pipe becomes a round object and you can see the front and back of Goomba. For the latest version of 3DNes 1.4, you can now see everything in the VR headset.
By holding down Ctrl and holding Mario, I actually became an Italian plumber and can use the first person. I used a gamepad to shoot at a fast speed (which sounds very comfortable). It's not fully optimized; pressing the left and right button will cause the 180 degree camera to turn, I will miss the message like the game skip flag, but it still has the same cool experience as mining Dolphin VR.
3DNes Pro's VR support, but only for the $4.99 Pro version.
